Forming molecular states with hadronic rescattering

Abstract A method for modelling the prompt production of molecular states using hadronic rescattering framework general-purpose Pythia event generator is introduced. Production cross sections possible exotic molecules via at LHC are calculated $$\chi _{c1}(3872)$$ ? c 1 ( 3872 ) resonance, a tetraquark state, as well three pentaquark states, $$P_c^+(4312)$$ P + 4312 , $$P_c^+(4440)$$ 4440 and $$P_c^+(4457)$$ 4457 . For $$P_c^+$$ expected section from $$\Lambda _b$$ ? b decays compared to hadronic-rescattering production. The fiducial cross-section measurement by LHCb found contribute level $${\mathcal {O}({1\%})}$$ O % Finally, yields $$\mathrm {P_c^{+}}$$ during Run 3 estimated. background be significantly larger than signal rescattering.
